Analou Sugar (Director)

Analou Sugar is a speech and language therapist (also known as speech therapist or speech pathologist) specialised in the field of paediatric feeding and communication difficulties. She is also the director of the clinic. In her role as a speech and language therapist, she provide life improving treatment to children with a range of feeding difficulties supporting the development of infants and children’s eating and drinking skills to meet their nutritional requirements to the maximum potential in a safe manner.

Analou trained in South Africa at the University of Stellenbosch where I qualified as a speech pathologist and audiologist (B. Speech Pathology and Audiology) in 1997. I obtained my Master’s degree in Speech Pathology (MSc Speech Pathology) at the University of Cape Town in 2001.

Since moving to the UK in 2000, she worked in various paediatric community and acute NHS hospital settings throughout London. She currently work at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on a part time basis as the clinical lead for paediatric feeding difficulties. Analou has published research papers and presented at conferences in the UK and Europe on the topic of paediatric feeding and swallowing difficulties.

She is a member of the medical advisory board of the UK national charity for children with gastroesophageal reflux ( www.livingwithreflux.org ) and served on the committee for National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) national guideline committees - Faltering growth: recognition and management of faltering growth in children NICE guideline [NG75] Published date: September 2017 ( https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng75 ). Analou currently represent allied health professionals on the Patient Advisory Committee for the European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN).

Analou set up my private practice 2003 where she personally assess and treat clients attending the feeding clinic. Over the years Analou has expanded my practice to various locations across London. I work closely with general paediatricians, paediatric gastroenterogists, paediatric surgeons, paediatric allergists, paediatric psychiatrist, developmental paediatricians, paediatric dieticians, paediatric physiotherapist, paediatric occupational therapist and lactation consultants to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary assessment and evidence based treatment of communication and feeding difficulties.

Jackie Falconer BSc (Hons) RD

Jackie Falconer

Jackie is a clinical dietitian who specialised in paediatrics in 1995. She works in the area of paediatric gastroenterology at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, UK. Her particular areas of interests are short bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease; non IgE mediated food allergy, coeliac disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux, feeding difficulties and eosinophilic conditions.

Jackie was chair of the Associate Members of the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (BSPGHAN) from 2003–2007. She is the present chair of the Allied Health Professionals group of the European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) working on promoting nurses, dietitians and other Allied Health Professionals within Europe. She served as the AHP representative on the ESPGHAN Gastrointestinal committee (2013-2017) and is working with the GI and Nutrition committees on an ESPGHAN position paper for Jejunal feeding in children. She was on the teaching faculty for the Allied Health Professional summer schools in Croatia, 2017 and Spain 2018.

She has presented and chaired both nationally and internationally.
